window shopping

I thought I would share some of the things one can buy on a drive round Accra by merely winding down one's car windows... ... by no means an exhaustive list...

popcorn
plantain chips
in-car phone chargers
yam chips
toilet roll
apples (appow appow)
flashing koosh balls
fan yogo/fan choco/fan ice
filofax
car footmats
those plastic butterflies that are on long handles and when you roll them along the ground their wings flutter

steering wheel covers
meat pie
car seat covers
ground nuts
kenke
pyuaa watter
tampico (juice)
milo
map of Ghana
map of the world

pringles
tissues
phone units (credit)
material

biscuits
dusters
car air freshners
puppies
razors
alphabet chart
counting chart

matches

I know it isn't an exhaustive list, but a few more critical items are:

Chocolate
Flags - especially American flags
Extension cords
Pens
Tables
Sculptures
Handkerchiefs

Mind you, any time you actually want one of these items, they are NEVER there

In Uganda you can buy bags of fried grasshoppers from the side of the road! The whole experience is made more unpleasant as a crowd of dusty, smelly men thrust bags of the critters at you through the car window trying to get you to buy theirs!

The most weird roadside produce though has to be the fish that were miles from any water sources...not sure how fresh they'd be after sitting in the sun all day.

Still not as impressive a list as yours though! And your list is far more impressive than the nothingness I can buy hanging out of my window here!!!
